Honors Biology is the course designed to prepare students for the knowledge fundamental to taking this course in high school. According to Britannica, biology helps us understand the living world and the ways its many species function, evolve, and interact. Advances in medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, and many other areas of biology have brought improvements in the quality of life.
The goal of this course is to inspire students to gain the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the living world. The topics covered in this class include Cellular Biology, Bioenergetics and Biochemistry and Ecological systems. This course is suited for all students who plan to take this as a high school course. Students are engaged in the learning through the experiment demonstrations and practical examples.
These 10-week 90-minute sessions include the following topics.
Weekly assignments will be given in order to help the students understand the material better and see what topics need further review. After this course students are ready to take AP Biology.
Calculus is used to understand concepts in physics, engineering, economics, and statistics, and is a critical skill needed for fields like machine learning, artificial intelligence, aerospace and medicine.
